At Canterbury Biltong, we take food safety seriously. Our commitment to delivering the highest quality biltong and jerky products is backed by our strict adherence to food safety standards, regularly audited by MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries) and NZIDT (Halal certification audited by the New Zealand Islamic Development Trust).

What Does This Mean?

Being audited by MPI means that our entire production process, from sourcing raw materials to packaging, is closely monitored to ensure compliance with New Zealand’s stringent food safety regulations. MPI's oversight guarantees that our products are not only delicious but also safe and trustworthy for our customers. Our regular audits by NZIDT, an independent testing authority, add another layer of assurance, ensuring that our product and process follow the Halal requirements.  MPI and NZIDT tests our products for quality, safety and consistency.

We are proud to export our products to more than ten countries, including Korea, where food safety and quality standards are among the strictest worldwide.
