Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're very sorry to hear about your experience with our biltong.
Our biltong is made using only natural ingredients and contains no preservatives. In cases like this, the most likely cause is that the packaging seal has been compromised, allowing oxygen to enter the bag. Unfortunately, once this happens, the product can deteriorate - much like leaving a piece of fresh steak out on the kitchen bench. While this is a rare occurrence, it's an unfortunate risk with preservative-free products, and we understand it's not the experience you should have had.
To minimize the chance of this happening, we've recently invested in a state-of-the-art leak detection system that checks every bag for seal integrity before it leaves our factory. We're confident this will significantly reduce the likelihood of this issue occurring in the future.
We'll get a replacement product out to you today, you should receive it Monday or Tuesday. Could you please let us know if it was just the one 100g packet that was affected?
If possible, could you also confirm the production date stamped on the back of the packet? I'll email you my details. This will help us investigate and keep accurate records.

The biltong is well packed and so each packet is fresh. It makes a perfect snack especially with a beer/glass of wine while watching rugby.
Great product, great company. Big enough to be well represented and stocked around the motu, but not too big toengage with fans like myself who like to buy bulk.
Love that they don't use MSG or other enhancers like that, and that their sugar content is low.
